The last Supernova visible to the naked eye occurred in the large Magellanic Cloud on February 24, 1987, reaching a Magnitude of 4.3 [An Apparent Magnitude of 6 or less is visible to the naked eye].

This was the first time since 1604 that it was possible to see a Supernova with the unaided eye!

This was a sign for this generation!
